Just upgraded from a Microsoft wireless mouse to a Logitech G700.

All the features of the mouse work (or at least seem to so far) without installing the software (I dont like installing software if it isnt needed).

This is great but I do miss the 1 click magnify feature on my old mouse (side button activated Windows magnify instantly). As I use my HDTV as a monitor and my sofa as a desk I used this quite a bit.

Is there anyway of binding one of the G700s buttons to open Windows magnify without installing a load of crap?

Thanks :)

Not definitely sure, But I suspect you have to install the software and then just map it to open the magnifier, either if its in the list of shortcuts or just directly open the .exe

Yer probably have to install the software, you could put a shortcut to the magnifier on your desktop/start menu, but i'm sure you know that.

If you have not installed the software that came with the new mouse then you are not
going to be able to configure the buttons on the mouse so you are not going to be able
to put the magnifier on any of the buttons, I suggest you install the sortware and try and
re-configure your new mouse then.

Let us know how you get on.

I installed the software (logitech set point) and it's horrible as I suspected.
Rather than use microsofts magnify it uses logitechs zoom. This actually resize's text and icons rather than the magnifying glass.

I would really like a magnifying glass I can turn on and off with a click of the mouse.
I can't be the only person that misses this Microsoft feature?

Cheers :)

I tried 'Zoomit' a Microsoft product and it was ok but still didnt launch off the mouse.

My current solution is to use a Microsoft keyboard with the drivers installed. This old keyboard has a 'Magnify' key, so I have my 1 click magnifying glass back. Its just on the keyboard insted.
