Morning all. Just looking into moving to Maidstone in June 2008 and wondering if anyone has any experience of living there themselves? I spent my uni day's in Canterbury and found it nice, if a little bit small. The opinion I get about Maidstone is that it's considerably larger than Canterbury with better shopping, night life and even accomodation.

I think Canterbury shopping is great, personally - though I know Maidstone has a Primark. Maidstone is nowhere near as charming as Canterbury though, and the one-way system annoys. I've never lived there but comparing the two I suppose Maidstone is closer to London, Tunny Wells etc, so location-wise it's good, and accommodation would probably be better because Maidstone must be bigger than Canterbury.

Yea shopping in Canterbury isn't too bad, it does of course miss the likes of Primark! How far away is Tunbridge Well's (in driving time?) Is there lots of parking at Maidstone East station and is there a cinema (in maidstone, not at the station!).

Canterbuy is a much more "historic" City than Maidstone (County Town of Kent), not a bad place to live though to be honest. Parking used to be a nightmare and it used to be quicker to go upto Lakeside/Bluewater than mess about trying to get parked and being charged a fortune in Maidstone.
