Mail and Gmail - download all

So i've switched to using mail for gmail/mobileme accounts. But it doesn't seem to synchronise my gmail sent items with the web version and i can't figure out how to force it to download everything, or if its even possible?

Are you running it as POP or IMAP?

Doesn't gmail put them in odd folders?

Have a look on the sidebar and see if you've got this:

Where mine's titled IMAP.GMAIL.COM yours will be named whatever you called it when you set it up. You might have to expand a couple of things to get at it.

Or you can go in to Advanced Settings in Mail and change the "prefix" to [Google Mail]

This tip is not advised for those who use labels on Google Mail since the labels' respective folders in Mail will disappear if you change the prefix

You have to tell Mail what the folders are by selecting the correct mailboxes and then going to Mailbox > Use this mailbox for...

Then it should know where to look for and put your Sent/Drafts/Trash.
