Mail losing password

Hi All - I recently started having trouble with mail on my Mac Mini. Basically every time i turned my mac on and went into mail it would ask me for my pop3 password (ticked the box to remember password). Now it is happening even more frequently and will sometimes occur as often as every 15 minutes even though mail has been left open.

Do any of you guys have any experience of this problem and possibly know how to fix it?

Disk Utility > Repair permissions. May not work, but similar issues have been sorted by this before. Worth a try.
