Mail on iMac

I'm having a problem setting up Mail on my iMac - I use an smtp server for my domain.

I've been using it for a while on my MacBook Pro but I've now set it up on the iMac. From what I can see everything is the same but I can not send email, it just pops up with an error box saying the certificate for this server is invalid.

It doesn't however show me certificate/let me view it so I can choose trust.

Any suggestions??

If not any other good email clients? I was tempted to get office just to use outlook.

I did by changing it to POP3.

I'm still looking for a decent Mail reader though I actually tried Outlook as part of the Office 365 package and that would be my choice but I can't justify the subscription cost just for outlook.
