mail signature image comes in very small

As the title says really. I have an email sig that is 586px x 88px, when i drag it into mail for my signature it comes in very small, icon size nearly. What could i be doing wrong?

Managed to copy it in from safari now, but the animated gif does not work.....

You have an animated gif in an email signature? Urgh. In fact, any email that's not plain text gets an urgh from me.

I usually block images in messages, so it might be better to go with a text based sig

It's because you need to be granted a license from the IETF in order to use an image signature in email.
