Maingear launches 34-inch aio with 18-core xeon cpus

18 cores for gaming = pointless
Curved 21:9 for render/graphics work = bad

Seems to be a creation for e-peen.

Yeah I saw that and loved the look of it although it does have the annoying habit of looking a bit like gamer bling. Why is every gamer product out there black and red? What is wrong with just having something be solid black? It would look so much better.

Although if I had the money to buy a system like that I'd prefer it to have a 4k monitor rather than an ultra wide monitor. Or perhaps 3 1440p monitors either of those options would look awesome.

For productivity I guess my main requirements would be high number of CPU cores followed by Nvidia professional level GPUs for CUDA processing of video content followed by 128GBs of RAM followed by a large SSD as the boot disk and a secondary RAID 10 array of large mechanical hard drives for storing video and image data.

For games this machine is a bit over the top really but it could still certainly put up a decent front.
