Majesty 2 - Interesting RTS change?

graphics look pretty dated but they have made an effort to make it a little different so im looking forward to this....i love rts :D

Looks like Age of empires, but I really want to try this incentive system rather than directly controlling each unit. Could work, I like complex AI

It works great, loved the first one.

You do get some pritty dumb hero's tho who go charging off on there own and get killed lol.

If your download was <100mb then you downloaded the demo of Majesty not Majesty 2, I nearly made the same mistake. There is a leaked version of the uk and russian demo floating around and I managed to grab the demo that way. I'm 50-50 on it but hearing such good things (on another forum) re the old version that i've just gone ahead with the preorder.

Proper demo should be available today from the website (it shows as coming soon at the moment). However as they twitted a confirm that it had been leaked I think the leaked is ok as well :)

The game is insane.

Level 1, easy.

Level 2, crazy hard.

Managed to survive until day 52, but stopped.

The Russians have found a way to "hack" the demo and get 4 more levels out of the demo.

Hmm that might be the case. :) Not sure of the size but it wasn't big.

Loved the original hopefully this will be even better.

However if its anything like the first one it isn't a full blown RTS as you could only control the heroes via reward flags.

Still rocks though.

Game arrived on my doormat tonight so I gave the game a few hours and played through probably 4 missions - 3 novice and one advanced of the campaign

OK in terms of how this compares with the demo this is a lot better, so far not got to a mission that has been too difficult. The missions also seem well thought out, so my last one had an ogre sleeping nearby so I had to first level a warrior, meet up with a local blademaster and also ally with the elves. The Ogre in the end was seriously powerful so needed a huge bounty on his head and also my own powers to come into play - all in all it worked very well. Money wise in that one at least i'm pretty much there. I love the slightly remote feel of the game so it doesn't get to frantic and so far the way the missions have been designed all makes sense. Music and voice is very good - which is why I was a bit disappointed I had that turned off on the broadcast.

The negative - so far my biggest gripe has to be lack of achievements, when you complete a mission you are given a nice breakdown of that mission number of deaths/days to achieve etc but that doesn't seem to be recorded anywhere!

Multiplay I want to give that a go as that does seem to be quite interesting, i'm guessing it is like SP except your opponent is the other player which could just work smile

So big thumbs up - with the slight disappointment of lack of achievements.

Video from the first 5 mins of a mission in the campaign which gives an idea of some of the differences between demo and full
