Hi i have a problem ever since i ran a 3dmark 06 test this mourning my pc crashed and displayed green lines accross the screen even in bios also can only boot into xp safe mode .

So far ive tried a system restore also set all the hardware to stock.

my specs are [email protected]
4 gig 6400ocz ram
1 x 8800GTX at 620, slighty over stock mem(latest drivers)
gigabyte p35_DQ6 mobo
sp3 xp home
1 150gig raptor,2x500gb seagate HD

This oc has been stable for 6+months without any problems what so ever until today.

any ideas ?

thanks

Try putting your gtx to lower than stock. Any graphical interference in bios means that its not a software/driver issue but hardware.

I have a feeling you may have borked your GTX :(

How would i change the GTX settings if i cant boot into xp normaly ?

Yes the GTx is dead without a doudt just put in a 7900Gto works now.

I bought the card last july would it still under warranty now ?,also if its not what would you do in my circumstances ?

What make is it? You might still be under warranty.

If it is, you'll get a 9800GTX as a replacement I would guess or a 9800GTX+ if your lucky.

Its a BFG 8800GTX,How do i check to see if its still under warrenty ?

when my 8800GT went bust they said that i might be either getting a 8800GTX or a 9800GTX.
Providing you bought it within one year you could RMA it or something.

Is the small overclock that the GTX had going to make it out of the warrenty,What sort of info would BFG need for a return ?,also what is BFG support like and please dont say its terrible :(

I have no idea what BFG are like at support. If you still have you manual it'll give you the details of your warranty. I'll see if i can find anything on there website.

I found out where you can get in touch with someone. Dont say anything about the OC, just say that you've had some problems and you want something done about it. http://www.bfgtech.com/contacttech1.aspx
Chances are they'll ask you a few questions with the nature of the problem n that.

Just checked the warranty. Looks like its voided:

This warranty is only valid if the product:

Was not modified or damaged by overclocking, tampering, user error, accident, disaster, abuse, misuse, power supply, power application, alteration, repair, modification, a fix or replacement by someone other than BFG Technologies.

Just got an email from BFG support saying my replacement card will be a 8800GTX 768mb i thought they dont make 8800GTX anymore ? is this a bad deal considering someone here said it could be a 9800GTx or something ?

Like for like replacement. That's fair enough. You can't expect a free upgrade becuase you borked your card. It's over a year old so think yourself lucky.

I heard if you overclock your card it invaildates your warranty. So if they have a way to tell if you overclocked it you will be lucky to get a replacemant tbh.

BFG support is very good and there warranty is the best in the market to my knowledge. Looks like you got a quick turn around with your e-mail enquiry which is always a good sign.

I expect they still have stocks of 8800GTXs, which is why you were offered one. Like other members have said, like for like is nothing to turn your nose up at.
