Well I was using my PC the other night, playing games, wasn't overheating or anything, I rebooted, and I was confronted with this...

Yay for artifacts :(

It's an X1800 XT 256MB card, had it since the start of Spetember, so it's about 6 months old. Shouldn't be doing this, especially at that age.

I've gotton into contact with OcUK and have sorted an RMA, just thought I would post up about it incase anyone else has anything like this.

Hope this gets sorted quickly, as I don't have much time whilst I'm home from Uni.

Be no joy with an RMA yet, the cards 6 months old so out of the 28 days for an OcUK RMA, so has to go back to the manufacturer via OcUK to sort, only been 6 days so far, so got about 8 odd weeks to go yet before he gets a replacement. :(

Looks like the memory on the card has gone to me there.

I unlocked the catalyst overclocking thing and sometimes i get a similar opening screen, but i get no problems when the machine has actually loaded up.

Just to revive my rather dead thread as I didn't realise people had posted :p

It was recieved by OcUK on the 5th April, and went to Connect 3D on the 10th.

Heard nothing since. Peaves me quite a bit really as the only reason I have use of my PC is because a) a nice mate lent me a 6800 Ultra for a couple weeks, and b) I found a 4MB PCI (not PCI-E), card at home and when I have to give the 6800 back will be going to the naff card.

I can't afford to buy a new one to enable me to flog the replacement if/when I get one, which means I'm completely stuffed till Xmas. I know it isn't OcUK's fault as it's out of their hands now, just really rather pants of Connect 3D, certainly won't be buying another C3D card in the future. I don't like the customer services, and the card gets/got silly hot, and was noisy.

On the note of C3D CS, they have a webnote system, much like OcUK's, and I submited a question (on the same day as I did the one for OcUK), asking if I should send to them or to my supplier, took them about 2 weeks to reply, by which time OcUK had the card and shortly after sent it to C3D.

I really do hope it isn't a 9month wait. :(

Mine looked like that constantly, then when it went to the logon screen it stopped outputting to the monitor...so really couldn't use it.

I would send them a web-note to see if there is any update. A month is a bit long to wait.

I dunno, I'm tempted, but figure that seeing as they haven't contacted me there is nothing to report. OcUK have been very quick in sorting out the RMA, and gave me full contact at the begining, so I'm not all that fussed.

Also if what someone said earlier about it being outside OcUK's 28 day warranty I will have to wait anyways. :)

I would get a cheap PCI-E card, but I'd rather have something that means I can't play games at all than have one that means I have to run on min settings.

You could always get a pair of those cheap 7300gt's that are on special offer and sli them.

I questioned this before, but 2x7300 would not give my anything near 1x1800XT, and probably would not match up to 1x6800 Ultra...and I could buy a half decent single card for £70.

I don't currently have funds to chuck at the PC as I'm getting a car a job sorted for the summer which means I'd rather this RMA just went through quickly.

I've enoted asking if there is any progress. :)

*sigh* PCs are annoying.

my card had simmilair glitch's appear on sunday night.my pc froze when i was playing a game and when i rebooted my pc my motherboard which is a asus a8v deluxe said no graphics device detected(or something similar ).I restarted the computer again but this time it started fine and when it got the the windows screen (same place as your pic)it was currupt like yours but not as bad just small patches and the windows writing was currupt.when it got to the desktop my desktop had a big pink splodge of squares and white lines. When i moved the mouse my monitor started going on and off and the screen was getting currupt where i was moving the mouse pointer.I switched pc off and left it off all that night and retryed it on monday and it booted fine and has been working ok since sunday night.I think my card is dieing because a few weeks ago i got blue screens and my monitor was switching itself on and off and my mouse became unresponsive and then crashed to a blue screen which said nv4.dll has become stuck in a constant loop.I have contacted BFG and they have told me to send it to them.My card is a BFG 6800 ultra oc,would you guys agree that my card sounds broken?

my pc specs are
3500 64
asus a8v deluxe
2gb corsair twinx
bfg 6800 ultra oc
550watt aeropower ii+Se aerocool

Had my x1900xt replaced finally a couple of weeks ago after waiting half a lifetime. It was replaced with an x1950pro which I was not happy about - a £329 card replaced with a £140 card but due to the wait accepted it.

I webnoted OcUK last night, got a reply today....

we are still wating for the supplier to give us the new replacment, we appolgise for the wait, we will be finding out whats going on

I do so like OcUK's RMA service and customer services. :)

I don't mind what mine gets replaced with, as it's a cheap/low end card these days anyways.

As for 2x 7300, one is much worse than a 6800 Ultra, and my X1800XT is much better than it. I could run all games I wanted at prettymuch full whack (apart from AA/AF) and the ATi was happy, run them on this 6800 andI have to drop everything to min.
I'm not interested in benchmark results in things like 3D mark, as I don't need to bench my PC, I need to be able to use it ;)
Interesting read there, but he's OC'ed the card, something after my 6200TD many years ago I don't like to do. :)

By the sounds of things ONESHOTKILL your card is knackerd, yes.
