Hey guys. Really need your help with this one. I have recently recieved my order of upgrades and everything is built up and ready to go. The only problem is that the system will not power on. I have been having trouble connecting the front panel to the motherboard and used this diagram...

I have a CoolerMaster Eilte 335 case and a Acer RS780HV motherboard.

The weird thing is that the system did power up once. No display and was unable to switch off using the button. Also my HD 5770 was incredibly loud.

ANY help is very much appreciated!.

does your motherboard booklet not tell you how to connect up your front panel switches? have lined up the front panel connectors correctly, i.e positive-positive and negative-negative. all power connectors to your motherboard plugged in? stand offs screwed into the case?

just stating the obvious checks first :p

might be worth listing your full spec, to give the more informed guys than me a better idea what to look at

Yeah I have checked all of the above and no manual came from Acer or can be found about connecting up the front panel switches.

Right. A little development since. If I unplug the 4 Pin motherboard connector. The computer turns on without having to press the power switch with no monitor output and no motherboard bleep.

Other specs:

500W OCZ SilentXStream
AMD Phenom X4 @ 2.5GHz
Ati HD 5770 1GB
4GB Patriot DDR2 PC2-8500 RAM

Sorry about all this but I have actually got everything working now. Turns out y GPU was so loud becuase I didnt connect the PCI-e correctly and same goes for the 4-pin motherboard connection. I should be fine from here.
