Major Issues!

OK. I am having some big time issues with my rig. I watched the footy yesterday, and when I got back to my rig, EVE Online was corrupt and would not repair. I tried a new drive, still the same, downloaded a new client, still the same, only Secret World and all of Steam broke then.

Clean install on my SSD. Files won't install, I get an error...on every file. I again, tried a clean install on ANOTHER HDD this time...and guess what. It's the same issue AGAIN!

Any ideas guys, I am pulling my hair out at this one, BIG time problems!

Error says :

NSIS Error

Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy.

Also, even the installers on a second HDD I hadn't connected at the time are the same!!
 
Even stranger. I try to CCcleaner or how ever its spelt, and it spits this error out.

The thread attempted to execute an instruction whose operation is not allowed in the current machine mode

MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
6.0GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
 
ram or MB problem then. or even the cpu's problem if the memory controller has gone bad, but very unlikely.

clean the gold fingers and try.
 
I have 2x2Gb of HyperX and 2x1Gb of GeIl Black Dragon. I have removed the Geil as it is quite old...seems normal again now???
 
Yeah, try without those ram in, and see how the pc runs for a little while.

My last problems were all caused by a dying RAM stick, and all were fixed as soon as I removed it :)

ALL my problems have been cured! My sounds stutter, CPU spikes, everything is fixed!

Not really, but yeah, everything is running and EVE is actually updating now instead of throwing random errors at me...

To sound super technical...

pretty much all that stuff goes through the ram, so if the ram is buggered....

Good job its nice and cheap. Now you've got an excuse to get fancy stuff with lights on.:p
