Hi I seem to be having a problem with my internet speeds; I live around 380M from the exchange and have 02 ADSL2+ Service where for around 9 months I have had around near enough the full 24Mbps.

For the past two weeks I have been having very slow speeds, here are the stats;

Uptime :

0 days 18 hours 24 mins 33 secs

Type :

ADSL2+ Annex A

Line Rate (Up / Down) :

104 Kbps / 2472 Kbps

Noise Margin (Up / Down) :

7.8 dB / 8.6 dB

Attenuation (Up / Down) :

63.7 dB / 69.5 dB

Power (Up / Down) :

As you can see that is very poor!!! My Attenuation is usually 16 or there abouts, why has it jumped so high? Have they moved the exchange??!!! I have no idea what the heck is going on and so don’t 02 I have tried all sorts, checking the wires in the master box unplugging every extension cable and having it direct into the master test switch.

BT Were doing updates on the Exchange to make it Fibre. I can only hope this has caused it? I think 02 are sending a BT engineer down to have a look!

ask o2 to arrange a SFIO engineer comes and checks your line. Also try replacing all the dsl cables/filters and use the test port on the master BT socket.

Have they moved the exchange??!!!

I have seen this done before due to fire damage so it happens some times.
But as Nunzio said get on the phone to o2,
First off get the router moved back in to the test socket and change the cables/filters and leave it to them, LL14 its on way to you by the looks of it.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I had ADSL a couple of years back. I used to sync at around 20 meg roughly and all of a sudden one day my connection died. It eventually came back up and was syncing at around 1 meg and my phone's dialtone was dead.

Luckily as a result I logged a fault with BT on the voice side of things and the engineer said to me that my cable pair had been rubbing on a piece of metal in the cabinet and the plastic covering had worn away so it had shorted.

So yes, if your voice service is fine, log a fault with your ISP and I'm sure you'll end up with an Openreach visit.
