Hi guys you might remember me posting about my Virgin Media ADSL connection a while ago. Anyway, I got myself a new router (BT Business Hub) which hangs on to the signal very well. I'm currently synced at 2947. The problem I'm having is really really sluggish connection.
When I use the BT Speedtester site, it comes back with a pretty decent results. However, when I use nearly ANY other speedtest site or utility, the results are far far slower. I often get pages timing out because they are taking too long to load, or just take ages to load. It is especially noticable in the evenings.
I've just used ThinkBroadband speed test and I am getting a download speed of 0.6mbps, well below the 2.5mbps my sync rate suggests I should be getting. Over the last few evenings I've had similar results, with the lowest being 0.3mbps.
This is obviously completely unaccpetable for a broadband connection, but who is to blame? I will not put up with almost dial-up level speeds and time outs on a broadband connection.
TIA,
Michael
