My problem is, whenever I open the game it stays on the loading screen, and nothing happens. Then it just says steam has to close blah blah. So far I've reinstalled it and my drivers but they haven't made any difference.

I can't find much either, anyone know how I can fix this? :(

Hrm.. maybe delete the local content and redownload it? A pain but it might get it working again.

Can you play any other Steam games? If so, redownload the TF2 content. If not, keep all gamecontent, and redownload/install Steam.

I redownloaded TF2, sorry that's what I meant by reinstalling it.

I just went onto a friends account and tried css, which loaded up fine. I then went onto another friends account and tried tf2 - which worked fine. Must be something to do with my account then?

tried deleting 'ClientRegistry.blob' ?

if my steam is messing up with any game i just delete that. steam updates itself next time you run it and then everything is back to normal.

Have you tried deleting the "Program Files\valve\steam\ClientRegistry.blob" file? Exit Steam, delete the file, restart steam, you'll need to enter username and password again. That might fix it.

Like uvmain asked can you play any other MP games on your account?

Do other Orange box games work (portal, ep2)? If you have two sound devices installed (onboard sound and a sound card), they wont get past the loading screen.

You have to completely remove one of them - like disabling the onboard sound in the bios

im trying to install it now and well i double click it and the install screen comes up saying blah blah space needed etc, i click next and it says preparing to install and the bar goes to full and well its been at full bar for about an hour now, i installed it on my laptop and it went to actually download loading about 5 mins after but this is stuck :(

I had this problem with other Orange Box games, it was because Zonealarm wasn't set to allow HL2.exe so it might be something to do with your firewall?
