Time for an upgrade :)

Currently have i7 3770K, 16 GB DDR 3, Asus P8Z77 Mobo, Radeon 5850 & Samsung 840 SSDs

Thinking it's time for major upgrade, which I do every few years but what to do??

Skylake, DDR4, Z170, NVidia 1080, M2 Pcie SSD
This would give a fairly big boost and would be ready to update monitors to 4k when DP 1.4 available.

or wait for refreshed iMac in a few Months..........

What would you do?

I think the opinions will be kinda biased on this forum! imo the only reason to buy a mac is if you need specific mac software or you're clueless when it comes to pcs - ie you're one on those people who get malware as soon as they turn their pc on!

Yeah, probably not a fair question. The Mac option was tongue in cheek.
Maybe caught in that upgrade trap years ago upgrades seemed to make a real noticeable difference, it just seems like to achieve anything these days to achieve anything you can't just upgrade one or two things but everything has to be changed. Mobo, cpu, ram, sdd etc........

GPU make sense & have been waiting for a while for new cards to be honest, but then the inevitable will start......... New mobo to get ddr4 and then I could get better read write speeds with M2 Pcie ssd. Before I know it could have just bought an over priced Mac that you can't upgrade anyway.
But then again there's gaming.......
