Major Upgrade problems

I recently bought a GA-MA720 mobo and Phenom x2 550,and was well happy when the delivery man came...i put it all together and fired it up,waiting to be impressed by my upgrade, but it'll very rarely boot, and even when it does i get a quick, unreadable bsod after leaving the bios :(

I've tried everything to get it work....a different Psu,1 or 2 sticks of ram,i've double checked all the plugs, cleared the cmos etc,but nothing will make it work properly. It seems as though its resetting itself every 4-5 seconds,i get the little startup sound from the HDD,and the disk drive will automaticly closes itself if open.I'm running it on a Trust 570w psu, which i assume as ample power.

I bought a a little mobo status speaker ( it didn't come equipped with one ) and i'm getting a long beep followed by a short beep, which is a mobo error according to the manual, but i've bought it new so i guess it may be faulty?

If anyone as any advice or solutions to my problem i'd be very grateful,as it'll save me the hasle of having to RMA it.

Cheers

:)

Cheers guys... trying to boot it out side the case is the only thing i haven't tried yet,i have tried it with just the minimum ( cpu, ram.gfx ) and i still have the same problem.I haven't got any way of testing them in a different pc as i'm currently using an Intel. The fans are all working cpu,gfx and psu,but the only thing that gets warm is the chipset heatsink.

As for the Psu,i know it's not the most powerful, but it currently runs my Pentium D dual core and Gigabyte mobo fine.

Anyway i'll try all your ideas and let you know how it goes.

I've tried booting it out of the case and still no joy,so it can't be a shorting issue... i've tried it with different ram,Gfx card and Psu and it doesn't change a thing :(

Thanks for the help, but it seems it'll have to be sent back.
