Major Vista Problem - crcdisk.sys

So, my Vista installation has got itself back into a never ending cycle of restarting. It has started doing this after I installed a Windows update for nForce4 SATA controller. When I try to boot into safe mode, it stops for a couple of seconds on the file crcdisk.sys, the restarts. I've googled for some answers, but the are all very vague and wishy washy, and many refer to laptops and PCMIA devices. Can anyone offer a solution to this? I want my computer back

Kinda sounds like the same thing that happened to me but i wasnt sure *** caused it, i had to boot from the vista cd and select 'repair' in which sorted it, hope this helps, might be worth a try.

Same here after I messed about with a triple boot with linux.

Ran the repair and sorted it.
