Came across this thread on pistonheads. Apart from providing some lols it did make me wonder whether I would attempt to do the samething (with any car/brand).

Personally I think it's just plain wrong to tart a car up with parts that were not meant for it. What are your thoughts?

I really don't understand people who try to make out a car is something it isn't.
520Ds with M5 badges, 320Ds with M3 badges etc. I'm not talking about the little M badges but the actual M5 or M3 badges.

The thing is, people who don't care about cars won't know or care what an M3 or M5 is. People who do know about cars will spot it's a fake a mile off. So what I don't understand is who they are trying to impress. Is it people who care about cars but know nothing about them?
