I thought this would be an interesting idea to compare our listening tastes and also get other recommendations from forum members with similar tastes.

1 - Choose your 13 favourite or most listened to albums.
2 - Then choose your 1 favourite track off each of the 13 albums to make a personal 'best of' album.

Mine are:-

1) Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away (Breakaway)
2) Alanis Morrisette - Forgiven (Jagged Little Pill)
3) The Cardigans - My Favourite Game (Gran Turismo)
4) Michelle Branch - Everywhere (The Spirit Room)
5) Natalie Imbruglia - Torn (Left of The Middle)
6) Oasis - Cigarettes and Alcohol (Definitely Maybe)
7) Ready Steady Go - Oakenfold (Collateral Movie Soundtrack)
8) Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot (Employment)
9) Evanescense - Everybodys Fool (Fallen)
10) Green Day - American Idiot (American Idiot)
11) Joss Stone - Don't Know How (Mind Body and Soul)
12) Keane - Somewhere Only We Know (Hopes and Fears)
13) Kelly Rowland - Stole (Simply Deep)

And no mocking my musical tastes please. ;)

Looking at some of your lists, i really need to expand my musical tastes. :p

My list updated due to me having 2 Oasis tracks in there.

Can someone please look at my list and recommend albums from other peoples lists that may suit my tastes. My current tastes are too 'safe' and i want to expand my collection a bit more. :)

It might be useful if the more knowledgable amongst you could recommend other stuff for other people who have posted their lists. I'd do it but i'm afraid i've not even heard of half of them! :o

The only one that ive never heard of in that list is Flaming Lips. Who are they similar to?

Cheer guys, i'll give the Flaming Lips a look. Do they have a female or male vocalist? I don't know why but i tend to prefer female vocals to male.

OK, i've had a listen to Flaming Lips but i just cannot get into them. I recognise one of the tunes (It Overtakes Me) from somewhere but nothing else really 'grabs' me. *prepares to be shot down in flames*

Bjork surprised me. I had recently been too quick to write her off as just being a little bit quirky.

I also like the Goldfrapp and Portishead stuff. I seem to be able to get into their music without having too many listens.
