make my 360 quiet ?

None sadly, the majority of the noise from every 360 i've used has been from the DVD drive so there's no way to reduce the noise it makes.

Add a custom water cooling kit and install games to the hard drive... that's about the only way.

I do believe there is a way to make the DVD drive read slower but not sure if I can cover it here. I'm not sure the method works for watching DVD's but it reads slower in games therefore the drive is quieter.

Buy a Jasper arcade

I got one about 6 weeks ago and still amazed how quiet it is compared to my launch model (which RROD after 3 years). Fan noise at all room temps is very low indeed and once you install games to the HD its almost silent. I would say the fan noise at full speed is silent the only noise is the air (which is only just warm) going through the ventilation case slots and even thats low. Plus you get the 512MB Flash ram built into the motherboard which makes the NXE load much faster as well as save games or arcade games saved to it. And after all that it still has around 200MB spare for more media or saves etc etc

Did it come in the Green box with Sega Superstars Tennis on it as that seems to be guaranteed to include 512MB flashram built in as well as quiet fans! Some early Jaspers only had 256MB built in so may have been the first batch. All the newest ones seem to be pretty quiet now. Mine was made in April 09.

I'm sorry pal, there's no way unless you spend lots of money on a Lian-Li case.

People who say their 360 is silent either have very high tolerence levels or live on a bypass where the high volume of background noise has condulded their ability to judge sound levels.

It's just that each console outputs a different level of noise, overall Jaspers are quieter than the earlier models but to say they're all quiet is just wrong unfortunately. It's a just a lottery.

That's a shame. Like the other poster, my Jasper is really quiet compared to my prior Falcon, which succumbed to the RROD.

Live with it im afriad or but justa cheapo DVD player. I dont know any with a quite 360 few friends have new models all are noisey.

Anything i watch film/vid wise gets done on my phat ps3 as its silent

Buy giant can headphones and watch movies with those on. You won't hear the 360 then.

Not all slims are silent just like the phats

Two differences...

If you get a noisy PS3 slim take it back, there's something wrong with it.

If you get a quiet 360, go have a hearing test, there's something wrong with you..
