Make my system better for £800

Hi all,

Got some money burning a hole in my pocket and my PC could do with some love.

Currently running 2500 i5 (the 1st gen) at 3.8ghz in the summer
8Gb of Gskill ripjaw ram
Ati 6950 gfx card
SSD m4 for games
Dell 27"
Onboard sound

The questions i have: is it a worthwhile investment to upgrade CPU, MB and Ram for faster overclocks and SATA3? Would a new soundcard and speakers be a worthwhile upgrade for someone who 95% of time uses a headset? Could a new GFx card let me have more bells and whistles at 1440p gaming?

Any build advice appreciated.

at 1440 a new Gpu may be a good buy.

The GTX 670 would fit in well.

Yep, i was thinking about the gfx card as well. Is the 2gb version ok for 1440p gaming or do i need the 4gb and all the problems associated?
