Hi All

Installed my X-Fi last night and after some teething problems seem to have worked it all out. Only problem I have now is that when I set "Digial I/O" to enabled, once rebooted, it seems to lose its setting. If I go back into the section to re-enable the digital out, the tick box is already ticked, but it requires an untick and retick in order to get it working again. Very frustrating.

Using the latest drivers (2.09.0007) and dont have anything else installed for the card, should I be using some other creative application (usually dont install such bloatware) in order for it to retain digital out after a reboot?

So even with the creative apps installed (not just the bare driver) it still does the same thing. As you say its not a train smash but hardly ideal. The only thing I want the digital for is passthrough to my z-5450's. Still have to play about and see if it sounds better/worse/the same letting the xfi decode dd/dts stream.

Your not wrong, I feel the same. Is it just me or is all the "omg get an xfi sounds great" malarkey ive read in every review not entirely accurate? Either that or my ears are borked. Havent played a game with it yet so cant comment on EAX5 and all that but for mp3 playback and what not, cant honestly tell the difference between the onboard. :(

Where can you download the "application" software, like the fancy interface for the different modes that I can see in the knowledgebase on creatives site? I only have a "audio console" in control panel and thats it. I tried to download and install what I thought was the application suite "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio software pack 01.04.0063" but it wont install telling me I dont have a compatible product (I guess this is for the new Xtreme Audio card thats just come out). What Im talking about is:

I didnt get a CD with mine this is why Im asking.
