Right, say you have a wired audio system, and you want to convert your rear two (or however many speakers) to wireless, via little hubs or similar, is there a product at the moment that caters for this?

How fat is your wallet?

All of the sub-£150 gear I have seen needs a line output from the audio source. For 5.1 surround sytems you'll only find that sort of connection on the higher-end AV amps at £600+.

There are wireless kits that can work with a speaker output typically found on an all-in-one kit or sub £600 AV receiver. But the cost of the kits is higher. They range in price from £200 up to £450.

So there's no kits that would work off the normal speaker outs?

.... did you not bother to read what I wrote

Are we on the same page now? :p

Sometimes I really wonder if it's worth bothering writing this stuff :D

They aren't wireless, as they need to be powered, with wires... Then there is also the issue that unless you spend very great deal of money, they will kill the sound.

Google "Crystal Acoustics TR-60" (£220) and "Kef Wireless" (£450)

[Now read this bit]

Both of the above work with the basic speaker outputs rather than needing a line out connection.

Wireless my arse, you replace a discrete speakers cable with a mains lead, power pack like used on a laptop, fly lead and receiver box and fly leads. That's loads more crap to hide than a speaker cable.
You would need a battery system to be wireless, then it would want regular charging and probably sound crap.
I say man up and hide some small gauge good quality cable under the carpet or around the skirting board. Or drop it behind a dry lined wall etc.
