make wirless network secure

mum has been using the wireless network a lot recently on her laptop and been leaving it left plugged in so i think its about time i made it secure, only problem is i have no clue how, don't know where to start.

so come here hoping you guys could help me out setting up a secure wireless network.

Turn on WPA (WPA2 if you can). I don't understand why people don't use it, it couldn't be much easier. Log on to your rotuer 192.168.0.1 (or xxx.xxx.1.1) default passwords most likely... Flick a switch make a password away you go...

If you need further detailed assistance check the user manual that came with the wireless router.
