Is it advisable/possible to swap the stock cooling on a 6800 for something quieter? In my experience those little fans are noisy.
Not overclocking, I just want cool and quiet :)

You could always stick an arctic cooler or a zalman cooler on it. The zalmans are very quiet and should reduce your temps as well.

get a zalman VF-900Cu, you won't find a better and quieter cooler, the arctic coolers are quiet but cooling performance isn't close to the zalman

Go Arctic Cooler, dropped my 6800 Ultra temps by 20-30%!

Also by expelling the air out of the case my ambient and cpu temps went down to 29 and 31'C.

Defiantely worth the money and cheap as chips. ;)

Yes definatley the artic cooler if your case cooling er isnt.

I've got no case fans but the NV does a great job, 2D fan speeds are very low and it's still much lower in temps that stock cooling at full wack.

Slim

looks like your hsi bridge chip may be a bit of a problem when it comes to aftermarket cooling. i think only a zalman will fit since they rise up a bit and should rest above the bridge chip.
