I'm going to build a bed frame for my daughter's bed. The reason for building rather than buying off the shelf is that it'll be built over a sloping wall where the stairs cut into the room slightly, so standard bed frames wont fit.
I was thinking of laying some 18mm ply on top of some 38x63 cls timber I can fix to the 3 surrounding walls as battens, then have a couple of legs made out of the same stuff along the unsupported side.
Would the 18mm ply be sturdy enough? It's only a single mattress and she's only 3.
