Hi,

i have a large collection of DVD's and would like to know if there is some software that someone knows about that will let me enter the title of the films and then get all the data about the film so i can print out my collection for friends and family to pick out what they want to borrow.

I use to always just have a list of my films on WORD which i then updated but i have no lost that so i need to start again and one of the things i always got asked was "whats this film about" and then i would have to explain it so if there is anything that would do this for me then please let me know.

Thanks

i know of a few cataloging programs for music cd's but never heard of one for dvd's

im sure somebody somewhere has and will be along soon to help out :)

EDIT : a quick google of "dvd catalog software" produces a fair few hits, im sure theres something in there somewhere that will be of use to you :)

You could use an Excel spreadsheet??

Just create the headings and enter the data. You can apply filters etc. You can also set the headings to appear on every printed page.

this would require manual data entry. The way i understand it he wants to be able to just insert the disc and have it download the info from the net. like itunes or wmp do for music

collectorz.com

You can download a trial version that is limited only in the number of DVD's it can catalogue.

I purchased their special offer (DVD, CD, books and barcode scanner - waiting for the scanner). You need the pro edition to export lists.

I use DVD Profiler 3 although it's not free ($29.95 one time fee) but it does the job and lets you download the DVD cover images. Really easy to enter the DVDs as you type in the EAN on the barcode (or you can use a barcode reader).
