Hi

A few issues i can see.

You've gone for a non-Overclocking CPU but a Z97 (overclocking) motherboard.

If you want the non-OC CPU, you can get a H81/B85 motherboard to suit.

Or you can get the 4670kand a z97 board, over £100 is a lot to pay for a motherboard too (if you've not got sights on SLI).

The rest is pretty good.

What is your overall budget, for the while rig?

Is this justa gaming rig?

No OS neeeded?

Any parts he already has?

You also have a competitor link, you'll have to remove it...

As for those components (alone).. Heres another option at around £60 cheaper.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus H81M-K Intel Core i5 DIY Micro ATX Motherboard, CPU & RAM Bundle £225.97
1 x **B Grade** HIS Radeon R9 280X iPower IceQ X2 TURBO 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £129.95
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £39.95
1 x Raijintek Themis Black Heatpipe CPU Cooler PWM - 120mm £19.99
Total : £425.46 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I forgot about RAM sorry guys, i think his budget is around 600? and thats a tight 600, hes got an OS so thats taken care of, is there any down sides to the micro ATX motherboard, like if he wanted to change the gfx card and such in the future?

YOUR BASKET
1 x GALAX GeForce GTX 970 EX OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (97NQH6DNB4UX) £259.99
1 x Asus H81M-K Intel Core i5 DIY Micro ATX Motherboard, CPU & RAM Bundle £225.97
1 x EVGA 500W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply (100-B1-0500-KR) £41.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £39.95
1 x Aerocool V2X Black Edition Midi-Tower - Black £19.99
Total : £604.39 (includes shipping : £13.75).

Tad over £600 You could go for one of the cheaper GTX970's, but saving £8 would be short sighted. Note the GTX I selected is a this week only deal. :)

Also he'll get a free game with the GTX.

Intel heatsink should be fine for a non overclocking cpu, I have installed one at work and it isn't loud.
