I'd like to make a 4 player gauntlet machine but have no idea where to start so hoping someone can give me a few pointers.

I've got a crt (only Sony professional one with sdi ins) which I'd like to use but don't know what bits to use for the brain and controllers.

Obviously a cabinet is the dream one day but before then a control surface with all four controllers and the computer brains connecting to the crt is my aim.

Will a raspberry pi and MAME do it? (I just know the names - I have no experience of either)

Thanks in advance. Dave

I got one working with a raspberry pi with retropi installed.Took a little while to get it all set up but worth the effort. If you want to play it on a crt you will need a pi2scart or similar. I just used a 4:3 lcd with scan line generator and it looks good.

I got the buttons and USB encoder from arcadeworlduk.com who sell bundles which are quite good if you are building it all from scratch. Good Luck!
