Is it possible to make a pci wireless card into an access point so that i can use my psp on it without having to buy an actual access point?

Grateful for any help. :)

Not without some 3rd party software on the PC it isn't. Sony's definition of an ad-hoc network means PSP to PSP only, not PSP to PC.

I don't remember the name of it, but there is some software that you can run on your PC that'll let the PSP access the internet via an ad-hoc wireless network.

I've been looking for some software, PCTEL SoftAP but the download link isn't active any more, does anyone know of a site to download it from?

PCI Wireless card - something else = Ad-Hoc mode

Wireless Access Point - Wireless device = Infrastructure Mode and the OP said that he didn't want to buy an AP.
