Making My own case

Please chang title to "making my own case"

So for my design for a fully plastic case has gone out now.
So my current line of thought is modular/skelly kind of things and would really like people to post their thoughts on what sort of shapes and features they would like to see as for my work I need to show I've asked people

So please post your thoughts

Obviously if I do go ahead and make one I'll create a project log

I know they already exist, hence the idea lol but the temperature thing is what I liked about the idea.

I did think of that but I thought fans would aid there

Metal is a no no for me really due to not be able to weld properly etc. Hmmmmm I do like the skelly act just trying to think what my take on that sort of thing could be.....

Ah that's a very good point coming to think about it, anther problem with that is, how do you get the hardware out haha

Ok maybe the plastic case was a bad idea. Maybe I'll have a deeper look into the skelly and maybe try to get some inspiration from there

Yes I think this fully modular/skelly idea is probs going to be better and probs wont look like a cheap knock off jobby.

I'll edit my original post and ask for the title to be changed

If anyone can give some ideas for modular/skelly things then I would be really grateful

It's not really modular so you could perhaps make it more so. I think it would benefit from variable orientation of the HDD's, PSU, and the opticals, in the base. This would be to make cabling easier.

The top framework is not easy to simply lift off (unplugging the top fan) to make the MB access a breeze, so your design could incorporate that facility perhaps. I did not extend the front switch/LED cables on mine, so that rendered the slide out MB pretty much useless, which brings this to mind.

The idea of the large top fan cooling mostly everything is a good idea, but perhaps a design with side fans would be worth looking at, although keep the framework to enable handles at the top. I used that aspect quite a bit.

its just hard to thing of something new without like creating somethings thats already been made. cause you look at the skelly and when u picture making it, it looks the same but with some features you want haha

ill talk to my tutor some more and try to progroess with some inital takes on the level 10 and skelly and see how i can maybe combine aspects of them in some way.
