ive looked on the net and there is NO WAY i am paying £250 for a triple monitor stand. so i am going to make one.

i can get some vesa brackets that are nearest to flat i can find 15mm between the monitor and the surface you fix it to. so i was thinking an MDF back board and just put the monitors straight on to that with these brackets which would be good..

but. my monitors dont exactly have the best viewing angle in the world so i'd have to make it so that the 2 outer monitors are facing inwards. any ideas on how i could do this?

do you know of any webistes or pictures where someone has done something similar?

Thanks for replies and input

I'd use something more hardy than MDF (its just compressed chippings). It may be strong enough if you get a thick chunk, although it may deteriorate and eventually fail, or just get airbourne bits into your monitors. It shouldn't be hard to knock something together, even the VESA mounts you mention buying are easily made (if you're handy).

To angle things inwards you can just use wedge-shaped bits of wood...but personally I'd get a large sheet of decently thick metal, bend it to the correct angles and run the bolts right through (with washers and nuts used for spacing accordingly). What you mount your ajoined 3 screens on is up to you!

If I was building a monitor stand I would use this stuff...

Aluminium profiles

I have built a flat bed plotter with it, great stuff and light and strong.

They can cut profiles to length and allen bolt fixings and angled ones for your end screens. It would look really professional, and I bet under £50. I got 4 lengths of 40 x 40 x 1000mm and the corner fixings and bolts for £68.
