Making a W7 starter USB boot stick

Mrs holdi has an Acer netbook with Win 7 starter.
We have the recovery discs but they install a heap of Acer bloat that we don't want.
The serial number on the sticker is unreadable now so I used Belarc to find it.
When I input it on the MS website it says there is an issue with it presumably because its OEM as it activates fine if we install via the recovery discs.
I have managed to find an OEM image however when I use that it wont activate either.
Any ideas about how I resolve this ?

BTW to OP, use RUFUS to create bootable usb from that iso.

Thanks, I have used Rufus and the MS one, both worked fine for me.
