I currently have a copy of XP and Win7 upgrade... I hear it is possible to make an install disc for XP that does not require any user input, is it possible to make one that would do this and then install 7 over the top? If so, how would I go about doing this?

You can just do the double-install trick for Windows 7. Install it once, without using your Product key [it will moan but you can skip it].
Once done, reinstall again.
There is also a registry hack you can try so you need only install once - though I have read it does not always work. Worth a try though at least before you do the second install.
