I installed MS Office on my MBP, however it only shows up under my account, and not my girlfriend's... How can I make it so she can use the app through her account too?

Thanks

So I effectively have 2 copies of the software floating around on my computer??

Well, yes and no.

The user accounts are designed in such a way so that you can install what you want on your account, without the other account being changed.

You are thinking of the Windows environment where you can install a global app. I am not aware of a way to do this in the OS X environment.

As long as you are using the app on 1 machine, there shouldn't be a licensing issue :)

Can you not install it to /Applications (the global applications directory) rather than ~/Applications (The user application directory)? It's a bit confusing as OS X hides the underlying structure of the filesystem but you can make the installer create the directory under the global /Applications. Apple puts a lot of effort into hiding the lower level details for the benefit of usability but it can be frustrating at times.

Sorted now- my GF didn't realise that it was under a folder called Microsoft Office in Finder- Silly girl! :D
