Evening All.

Just got the money through to buy a new processor with. I have £100 to spend on an AM3 CPU to go with my motherboard (MSI 870-C45). At the moment I'm almost definetly going to buy a Phenom II X4 955 due to the drop in price. However, in the next few days I will have around £20 extra to play with. Would the Phenom II X4 965 provide a noticable difference in games like WoW, CoD 4 and Valve titles if I wait a little longer?
Along with this, I know the royal mail option is cheaper but would I be better off spending extra and pay for a DPD delivery just to make sure it arrives safely?

Regards,

I would stick with 955 CPU and probably go with DPD, you could go with DX and let me know how they do in Kent! :p

+1 for sticking with the 955. If you have £20 extra - put it towards a CPU cooler and overclock it as far as you can (if you have already budgeted for an aftermarket CPU cooler - then put it towards a more powerful graphics card).

I use my PC for gaming mostly, very little else. As mentioned above I play WoW, CoD 4, and several Valve titles.
Also (to gamesaregood) I heard that a higher clocked quad core would be more efficient for gaming than a lower clocked hex core?
And to "cmndr andi" I already have an aftermarket cooler so so the extra could got to a new graphics card or some extra RAM.
Thanks for the input so far!

Yeh for value for money to performance ratio for gaming the Phenom II X4 955 is best I recon.
