I have a SATA bay on my Corsair 650D, which allows me to plonk a harddrive on instantly. The trouble comes when I need to remove the drive - safely!

I have Intel Rapid Storage installed, but see no options to make the drive removable. :(

All I want is for an icon for one SATA port to appear, that allows me click it and it flushes the cache - allowing me to unplug the drive.

All I know is there is a SATA cable which connects to a SATA cable which then connects directly to my motherboard.

I could remove it before installing the Intel drivers. :/

Is ACHI enabled in the BIOS, I needed this enabled to allow my drives to be shown and removed safely.

If you have not then you will need to do a Registry change in Windows.

AHCI is definitely enabled, and was before I install the Intel drivers. It was only until I installed the Intel drivers I lost the ability to remove harddrives.

But even that's not such a problem, I'd just like to able to safely use the harddrive bay on my case. :(
