making itunes account without adding credit/debit card

is there a way to do this?

according to apple site there is but when I get the payment screen
i dont see "no payment" button on there

did they change this recently?

Well my daughter has an account so a credit card is definitely not required.

thinking back I did register an Itunes voucher when I created her account

I think I created my account a few years ago through the US Website which back then didn't require a credit card.

I don't know now, sorry.

i did it last week to register the digital copy of a film I'd legally bought in the UK but it would not allow me to install via my belgian itunes account

I did have the film code though so perhaps this was how I got round the no credit card problem.

For my US account I bought a voucher as well before creating the account.

This linking credit cards to create accounts is maddness required by in insanely small regionalised copyrights legislation which doesn't suit the world we live in and actively encourages pirating.

it is annoying im only interested in free apps

i think there was a cut off point maybe 5 months now where they stopped allowing ppl to make accounts without payment card
so annoying grrrrrrr

i thnik the trick was to register on some apple website that uses the same login details as itunes does.

i cant remember the details i did it ages ago , itunes was fail for me because i didnt want to use my credit card details just to register when all i wanted was the ability to download album artwork anyway
