As the title suggests ^^

Is this possible? In my uncles house, he's got his 2 rear speakers made wireless or something blah blah.

Atm my rear (7.1) speakers are bodged to the sides cause my rooms big and rectangular - im in the middle -_-.

Or are there any other ways? I dont really wanna put the cables undearneath the carpet lol...

Thanks a lot guys :) :) :)

wireless speakers will have to have a mini amp inside them to power the speakers, your creative ones dont. theres plenty of ways to transmit audio but you still need a seperate amp for each speaker.

And you will need power cables going to the amp. You could build speakers that are powered by microwaves. Bit dangerous though.

Basically just stick to wired speakers, they'll sound better and not paying for wireless feature.

What's the big deal with speaker cable? I have several runs of speaker/LAN cables going from room to room, from amps to 10 speakers. No big deal.

oh so there's not much chance of it happening then lol... but wouldnt it work like a wireless mouse? or are the wave thingys different?

suppose i'll have to buy longer cables then :( :( :( :(

How are the speakers going to be powered? With several C batteries? You'll need to replace them often, cost of replacement batteries. Then a RF transmitter/receiver, then working around power source for the batteries.

What is the big deal with 79 strand around the skirting board and up? Other half moaning? I have a 7.1 HT system, stereo Hi-Fi and quad sound PC system, all cables. Cables are pretty neat, just go down from wall mounted speakers, along skirting board. For the floorstanders, cable is behind the speaker.

A wireless mouse doesn't need much power, speakers do.

power wouldnt be a problem as i've got a mains power socket thingy at the back of the room.

My problem is just getting the speaker wires to the back of the room. ;)

You'll need a RF transmitter and receiver, and a amplifier plus cables going from the amp to the speakers, and a mains cable for the amplifier. You'll also need to adjust the amplifier volume every time you adjust master, as the receiver is probably fixed line level.

So it won't be "wireless" in fact you'll have more cables and it'll be harder to use.

So don't waste your money. Wireless speakers are rubbish, strange how Hi-Fi speakers are all cable type (either active or passive)

nuts. Anyone know where I can buy longer er cables? they're just the red and black copper cable thingy.. should know what I mean. I'm looking for like 20m if possible lol.

Thanks a lot for your help + advice already btw! :) :) :) :)

If it's just speaker cable check high street stores, sometimes they have offers. If they're just long RCA or specialist need to search for them. Google UK search should find them either way.
