I've got two windows machines from work which can't be used for anything really so I'm going to make myself a machine.

Specs are as follows -

Machine 1
i7 3770k
2 x 4gb corsair value ram
Gigabyte GA-H97M-HD3
HyperX 120gb ssd
Seasonic 400w psu

Machine 2
i7 6700 (not k)
HP PM871 256GB SSD
HP Motherboard
1 x 8gb range.
HP 400w psu

I'm guessing to base it around the Gigabyte system but swap in the 6700? Also use the 256gb ssd?

I'll be getting a new case and PSU, ideally I'll pick up a 1070, any recommendations on a small case and psu to fit?

Finally, what about windows? The first one has windows 7 oem, can I legally use the key?

Thanks.

That's great info thanks, for some reason sockets went right out of my head!

That seems a good plan, did I read somewhere that a certain mobo can OC the none-K variant of the 6700?

I'll see if I can keep the HP board, although it does look pretty none-standard so I'm not sure how it would handle the 1070..
