Hello all! Just wanted to check in with my new build (first time) as most of my components arrived today and I'm almost there I think... I got the intel i7 950 3.06GHz, asus sabertooth x58, Corsair hx850w, corsair hydro h70, 3x4gb dominator ram, & 2tb hdd, housed in the lovely fractal design refine r3...
The only thing I'm waiting on is my monitor (Hanns.G 27.5"), and GPU - I was originally going to go with the GTX 470 super-clocked, but then got greedy last minute and have ordered THIS!!
Anyway check it out - let me know how it's looking so far or if there's anything I can improve/tips. I'm a bit OCD and so tried to get the wires as neat/minimal as poss...

lookin well :D enjoy the rest and update this thread with pictures regularly until you finish the full build :D

Looks good. For tidy cable management, the main mobo 24-pin connector is normally fed right back on itself 180 degrees straight after the mobo and disappears through a cable management gromit to the back, then reappears down the bottom near the PSU. Then you dont get that big sausage/snake on view in the case.

Aah right! So it's okay to "forcibly" bend it that much? I managed to sneak the 8-pin connector straight through a gromit to the back, up to the top of the mobo (although it's quite tight), but I got slightly nervous trying to bend the 24-pin connector cable as it's such a beast!

If only my case was as tidy on the inside as that :D

Looking good. Pretty impressive first build mind, I think mine was a p4 back in 05, nothing special there :P

Yeah it'll be ok. Just take it slow, dont try and bend it too sharply, and sort of massage it into going where you want it to go. Depending on your case and where holes are etc, it might just go 90 degrees off the mobo then disappear behind the drive rack then go to the backside from there.
