hi guys

im [finally] moving from amd to intel

i am planning on using the following off my current rig...
  • thermaltake v1 cpu cooler
  • case + fans + other accesories
  • 600W PSU
  • asus soundcard
  • 3 sata hard drives
  • sata dvdrw drive
  • 8800GT

at the moment i will be upgrading the board to the Asus P5Q-E

the processor will initially be an E6300 until i can get a quad
either q6600 or q9300

and the ram which i am the most uncertain about is planned to be OCZ 4GB REAPERX

this will be running on vista HP or ultimate 64bit
and im ditching my dualboot setup

main use of pc is gaming - photoshop - music creation and media etc

has anybody got any thoughts on areas this could be improved
the prices of the current upgrades come to about £400 with an oem copy of vista so i would like to keep within that budget
could i get a better spec for the price?

the psu is corsair and is pretty much the newest thing in my rig

i already have the e6300 from the mm so i was thinking of pushing that for a bit until i go quad [which wont be for a good few months]

the ram is what i was concerend with really

should i keep the 2gb of geil in my sig and get another matching set? to take me up to 4gb?

i have also seen this motherboard , would it be a bad move going for a b*grade over the P5Q-E?

what does b*grade even mean?

works out at £207.94 inc VAT if i go and pick it up from OcUK

not a bad price for the performance gains i think!!!

thanks all for your help

cheers for the help guys - i appreciate it

i think im going to go with the board in the basket image

just because i want to know what i am getting is covered in warranty and that all the bits i need will be there
