If you could have your perfect case for watercooling how would it be designed?

For mine id probably base it on a Lian Li case but have daul 120mm fans in the front of the case and in the roof so you could have to rads....

how about you?

My perfect WC case is already designed :p

It goes under the name of "Thermaltake VB5001SNA Tai-Chi SuperMidi Tower" and its absolutely gorgeous. Price is a bit off-putting though.

A case with a lot of space would be good but not too big. Custom made case would be even better.........it would be exactly as you wanted.

I would agree with the rad and pump mounting be mounting the res is fairly easy these days as most of them are bay mounted

hmm, it would have to be a 3 120mm fans ont he back of the casse, with no mesh guards, just a hole ! like my aurora, but with 3, for a tripple rad
then i would make it WIDE. i dont see why manufacturers make their cases so damn narrow... its a tad annoying.

it would have a removable mobo tray also

CoolerMaster Stacker 810!
It'll be the ultimate if it were:
a) 1/2 it's weight :P
b) Comes with side window as standard (bloody hard to find)

The 3.120 can be on the roof or as I'd prefer, the front of the case with fans pushing into thru the rad and into the case.

Its already out...ish.

Lian Li G70.

Add in the top a mount for a rad and bingo.

It can handle phase, water, both at the same time...

It is based on the PC7*s so it has probably got the best pedigree of any case for the title of ultimate watercooling case.

Dead easy to mod aswell.

specific rad, res and pump mounting areas are the main problems

I would like to add a specific place to mount a second psu. Ie have the main psu powering the cpu, gfx, hdd and then the second one just running the pump/fans/cd-roms other bits. That should give some nice stable rails.

Just had another thought, how about two cases in one? For instance you have the psu/cd's/hdd in one section and then the gfx+ mobo in the other. The connection between the two parts could be done with some kind of quick release connectors :)

The main advantage of this being that when you have to lug the thing down the stairs/ take to lans you have two smaller, lighter cases rather than one huge mother to drag about.

I have the G70 (see Custom Pc mag issue 36 out on 27th july - I won reader drives :D :D )

It has dual power supples and a 240 rad mounted in the roof for good measure ;)

I got that case! Its great hehe

This is what i would do to improve the G70,

1) Take out the top psu bay - this means you can easily fit a 360 rad in the roof and another 120mm on the back of the case.

2) move the hard drive caddie back about an inch so you have the option of yet another 120 rad att he front.

(the black bits are rads - apart from the psu)

But this is just what i think ;)

tbh i think that would be to high - plus you would need to move the hard drive rack back a bit - a black ice 120 rad would fit better.
