Ive just been reading about how to do this. Essentially needs some 3D modelling software and some textures. Has anyone done this and wants to share any tips? I'd be doing it as something for a bit of fun, so cost needs to be zero but I'd be willing to learn how to create 3D models etc.

Decided Im gonna work towards creating my own home environment, and keep a log of doing it.

Baby steps though! I have just discovered Blender. My god what an awesome piece of software it is, and free!

I've not messed about with 3D modelling or rendering since my Amiga 1200 days in the 90's. My god how things have moved on. Im following a you tube series for beginners at the moment, and am making a donut.

Long way to go to a 3D environment...

I used to love pottering around the old oculus home environment, with the coy pond. Never had a big enough space to walk into the building and see if the pool table was playable. Then there were the xmas and Halloween tweaks that were great. I nearly forgot about the oculus blimp that used to rise out of the mist.
