Couple of my friends are going to Uganda for 6 weeks in the summer (wish I was going with them!! :( )... Lloyds Pharmacy have them priced at £55 for 6 weeks or £85 for 12 weeks... but we just went to Morrisons and the bloke there said it was £12 something for 6 weeks from there.

Any reason why? Any where else to get them for cheaper than Lloyds?

Thanks

Why do you wish you were going? I could think of 3 billion places i'd rather visit than Uganda, Skegness for example:o

I've just been given 5 months worth of malaria tablets....only to find out I can't take the ones they gave me as I have psoriasis on my elbows and these ones make it worse, need to go back and get different ones! Grrr!

The patent has run out on doxycycline allowing more companies to make/supply their own.

This doesn't mean the Morrisons ones are different, it's just cheaper because they don't need to recoup money from R&D and they can attempt to undercut the better known brands.

It's the same with any medication being sold as supermarket "own brands", they're exactly the same ingredients as the better known, flashier tablets but people tend to buy the more expensive stuff because they don't know any better.

Be careful.
Some malaria tabs have wicked side effects, absolutely wicked.
Worsening of psoriasis might be the least of your worries, so do check the stuff the alternative can cause.

Drink tonic water or lemon bitters too, they're full of quinine which protects against and can treat infection by plasmodium falciparum, the most common parasite to cause malaria.

Uganda is an amazing country.....ssesse islands are a nice little trip.

Caught Malaria 4 years ago in Zambia even though I was taking my tablets. Never been as sick or as scared in my life. The nightmares were crazy. Good for weight loss though.

Recently cost me £25 for a months worth of Doxycycline. Purchased directly from the dispensary at my local GP.

Edit: Had to be ordered 2 weeks in advance.
