Do they look like they are worn by morons/the sort of person you cross the street to avoid(like the annoying "Viking" bloke from the ancestry tracing advert), or are they stylish?

I think I plump for the former.

I've stuck with the same hair cut since the 90's. Short basically. Men really should not fuss about their hair too much IMHO. Just get up and go.

Dodgey blokes ain't they :p I've just stuck with the same style through the year's. #4 all over.. plus I'm losing my hair as I wear a crash helmet everyday :)

No.4? That's a bit long, isn't it? I'm not really into womens hair styles.

Why judge what others choose to grow/wear? Just walk past and get on with your life, or does it affect you that much?

It takes a lot of effort to grow a bun, you need a year at least if you're growing from a short cut. To be fair if they've gone to that effort I'm more impressed than anything, I can barely go more than four weeks without getting a fresh cut.

I'd be more inclined to avoid the man in the street that's staring at me due my hairstyle, than the man with a bun.

i really don't get it, especially the ones that are plainly not coverable under the practicalities of living with long hair argument.

it's the male equivalent of those women who do the whole top bun that bears more resemblance to an epileptic bird's nest than to a hairstyle.

Same hairstyle since the late 80s here - low-maintenance short back and sides, with a grade 0 on the back and sides. Life is too short to spend it fannying about with my hair and I wouldn't have the patience to grow it long enough for a man-bun even if I was young enough to get away with it ...
