man celebrates his 121st birthday

Amazing....If true!

The article repeatedly phrases it as he 'claims' his age, but as adam points out, could well be fake (and the fact it's the dailyfail doesn't fill me with confidence:D).
He doesn't appear on this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_verified_oldest_people (or the list of oldest living people, linked from that page)

...Interesting that the top 30 living and verified are all female

edit: and as rob says, he doesn't look that old to me

He has aged suspiciously well.

Looking forward to the proof of age.

Looking forward to any medical breakthroughs he (or someone on his behalf) will begin promoting on clickbait sites. “Doctors baffled by this one weird trick…”

To mark the milestone age, the retiree celebrated the day with a cake decorated with his first name, his age, and the phrase 'O terror do INSS' which translates as 'the terror of the INSS'.

INSS is the acronym for Brazil's National Institute of Social Security who are in charge of pension payments and survivor benefits.

The cynic in me feels me he fiddled with his date of birth years ago in order to get his pension early or one of his "deceased" children took on their fathers identify.

There are claims that is was the case with Jeanne Calment who at 122 holds the record for verified oldest person.

There have been various speculations about the authenticity of her age. In 2018, Russian gerontologist Valery Novoselov and mathematician Nikolay Zak revived the hypothesis that Calment died in 1934 and her daughter Yvonne, born in 1898, assumed her mother's official identity and was therefore 99 years old when she died in 1997.
