What are peoples views on man jewelry, including bling, ear-rings, rings etc. Thought a 'spec' me thread with a bit of banter discussion talk might be useful a little like the 'pink polo' shirt days.

Also
I am trying to find some tribally type man necklace things (I have no idea what they are called, if there is a name, google gives me bling). I want the sort of thing where there is a bit of leather tagged on to a large flat piece of bone or something. None of this silver/gold bling and no top shop crap.

Where did you guys pick up your tribal thingies?

I have a leather cord one with part of an antler on (no not like a horn) from Finland but I want something with a bit of bone on or something.

you might try some of the tribal bead retailers on the web and make your own
- aztec or celtic ceramic beads, anything plain/crude/unfinished

anything you get from a shop is going to look naff

bling wise, nothing more than this:

.

Yeah mainstream shop stuff looks naff, I wasn't after metal as I am a sucker for natural products (bone, wood etc and nothing heavy or too big).

What are you? Some kind of hippy?

No, I believe in violence in some situations. I don't tag myself as being part of a social group steming from the 70s and I don't get high on substances other than coffee. I don't defend animals and I am not into 'universal love'.

I have a rune carved onto a stone on a leather string that i wear around my neck. I picked it up from a street trader in Edinburgh at the end of one of the Art College terms up here, as a lot of art students sell or try to sell work off then.

Imo, stuff like that is cool but then hard to find :(

i dont wear any, not even a watch (have a phone for that kind of stuff). i just don't see how wearing shaped lumps of mineral is practical, it serves no purpose. except a wedding ring of course :)

I agree but I do like things with some form of sentimental value (that look cool), even though I will judge them on look if I can have a choice in the buying process.
