Man solves Rubik's Cube - after 26 years

Surely given enough time, you'd solve it by accident? A bit like the explanation of infinity, where if you had infinitely many monkeys with type writers, one of them would type a line of Shakespeare at some point.

For a 3x3x3 cube, there are 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 permutations. So, probably not!

The 7x7x7 cube has (ready for this..?) 19,500,551,183,731,307,835,329,126,754,019,748,794,904,992,692,043,434,567,152,132,912,323,232,706,135,469,180,065,278,712,755,853,360,682,328,551,719,137,311,299,993,600,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 permutations :eek:

Been able to do one since I was about 10, that stupid barrell thing too, had that one solved within seconds of picking the thing up it was so stupidly simple.

Any Rubick Cubist will tell you the same - you can't finish with just one block the wrong way round and no explaining to people in a club would cut any ice.

Too bloody right, that and the classic finding two stickers of the same colour on different sides of the same subcube, I could never quite understand why though, if you're going to cheat then cheat and finish the damn thing.

I could also put one back together in under half a minute too, I had a cheap one that would explode into it's component parts if you had it even slightly out of line when you went for a turn :)

Haha, i can just imagine

"Hey hunny, im ovulating"

"Not now hunny, I have a cube to solve" :D

Would a Rubik's Cube last that long? I'd have thought it'd be worn out after 27000 hours.
And once you know the 'moves' for shifting the pieces around, anyone can 'do' the puzzle. And I'd have thought it impossible to complete without knowing those sequences.
Mind you it's been quite a long time since I laid hands on one.

The cubes can be taken out and rearranged without tampering with stickers ;)

Has anybody seen the suduko cube? That is actually impossible. I gave up after about a minute of realising how hard it was. It's like playing a normal rubics cube, but all solved sides look the same!

That's absolutely ridiculous.

My mate spent a couple of days teaching himself how to solve a Rubik's Cube on Youtube and now he can solve pretty much any in less than 20 minutes. Apparently you just need a few set sequences memorised to shift the colours to the right places.

It took me almost a year to solve the cube without any help/instructions although I would only have a go at it like when I was in the toilet taking a dump :D I would bring the cube with me and give myself a challenge.
